Delays Are Not Denials

Every time I see the word "patience," I think of an old cartoon with two buzzards sitting on a tree limb contemplating dinner. One of the buzzards says to the other, "Patience my a$$, I'm gonna kill something." That's pretty much how I feel about being patient.
As an entrepreneur with a growing business, it's sometimes difficult to wait until all the stars align and I achieve all the goals that I'm working towards. It's exciting to contemplate the outcomes of everything that is in process, and I'm ready to see what's going to happen as a result of this massive effort. It makes me just a "bit" impatient, to say the least.
You've probably experienced the following: You take a course, and as a result of what you learned, you attempt a new strategy. You meet someone at a networking event, and they share some ideas that are working for them. You think, "Wow, I should try that." So you put a new program into place. You read a book that rocks your world, and again, you implement some of the suggestions. It goes on and on, doesn't it?
Isn't it true that when you take the time to ponder what you're already doing and visualize what lies ahead, everything falls into place in ways that you could not have planned for or even imagined? You already have what you need - take the time to LISTEN to your inner guidance. Be patient with yourself, your hard work is already paying off.
What would happen if you STOPPED the craziness of constant reinvention and allowed yourself to experience the full extent of one of your brilliant ideas. Get one task solidly under way, wait for some results to begin to occur. Then begin the next strategy. (Now, I'm not saying to ONLY do one thing at a time, believe me - as a fellow multi-tasker, I want to get as much stuff out there as I can.) However, when you give your ideas the chance to blossom and grow, you'll get more accomplished in the long run. Slow and steady really does win the race.
Too much multi-tasking also has other consequences. Have you ever waited a long time for something to happen in your life, and when it finally occurred, you realized that you didn't take the time to enjoy the journey? Stop and consider what you HAVE accomplished, instead of focusing on future events and you'll realize that you are much further along the path than when you got started.
You will experience unexpected twists and turns along the way, and you won't be able to plan exactly HOW everything is going to happen. Just put it out there, be patient, and see what happens.
Make sure to appreciate the people you meet, the places you go and the things that you learn along the way. Celebrate each little victory as you reach and exceed your goals. Your day is on its way.
Have fun,
Lisa
Patience is a gift. Enjoy the ride - even if it feels like you're going well below the speed limit.
