Asking Is Only Part of the Equation - Are You Willing to Receive?

When you set your goals and develop a plan to reach them, it's imperative that you are ready and willing to properly receive kudos for your accomplishments. Now you may be saying, "but Lisa, I achieved my goal, I'm happy. What more do you want me to do?"
When your desires are fulfilled, make sure to receive them with awe, humility, and the desire to help others.
Why would you want to acknowledge your achievements with awe? Because when you bring about something that you have been working towards, you realize how extraordinarily powerful you are. Your accomplishments are a reminder that you have the ability to mold your life into whatever form you want it to take. When you are in awe, you appreciate more. The best part is that because you are grateful, you receive even more blessings.
Acknowledge your accomplishments with humility. Your humbleness reminds you that you did not do this alone. When considering the steps you took to achieve of your goals, you realize how many situations, events, and people were in the right place, at the right time to make it happen. Make sure to express your gratitude to everyone and everything that helped you along your journey.
Lastly, use your successes to help others. You can offer your help in a variety of ways. For example, if you received additional wealth, give some of it away to benefit others. Read the biographies of the leading men and women of in history and you'll learn that they were quite a philanthropic bunch. Their wealth contributed to our society in myriad ways - think Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, among the countless examples.
If your goal was to find a new job, you can help your new employer by being the best employee, colleague, or mentor you can be. When you support the organization in becoming stronger and more profitable because you work there, everybody wins. Whatever goal you achieved, look for some way you can give a portion back.
The late Zig Ziglar once said, "You can get everything you want out of life if you just help enough other people get what they want." This is abundantly true. Not only does giving to others make the recipient feel better, it makes you feel fabulous too.
Of course, in all of your activities leading up to your triumphs, be sure to harness the power of appreciation. When you are setting goals, be grateful in advance of them occurring. See
